By connecting a fibre optic cable, the coupling’s LED indicator (CSM) can be read, for example, from the side of the vehicle. The signal, which lights up for 60 seconds and is clearly visible even in the dark, shines red or green light to indicate whether the coupling is open or closed. This passive and maintenance-free safety solution makes things easier for the driver and can be used on vehicles that do not have a CAN bus, for example in several trailers.
