VBG Driver Assist makes coupling long vehicle combinations faster, easier and safer. With intelligent radar monitoring, audio signals and voice guidance, the system helps the driver find the correct position during coupling and provides timely warnings if there is a risk of over-coupling. The result is increased confidence behind the wheel, fewer costly damages and more efficient operations, even in confined spaces and demanding environments.
This is required for the installation of VBG Driver Assist.
The BCM must be installed; the use of indicator kit 28-116800 is recommended.
A wiring harness from the electrical connector on the semi-trailer to the coupling's CSM. Choose either the 12 m or 16 m version. Part numbers 28-113300 or 28-106400.
In the connection between the truck and the semi-trailer, a 7-pin or 15-pin coiled cable with twisted-pair conductors for data communication shall be used, in accordance with ISO 7638 or ISO 12098.

One of the VBG Driver Assist packages, depending on the functions required. The bracket for the DSM is selected separately based on the chosen mounting option, either on the drawbeam end plate or directly on the drawbeam.
A VBG coupling equipped with a CSM sensor is required to integrate the entire system. The CSM is fitted as standard on all couplings with an air servo. A manual coupling can also be used, but it must be supplemented with a CSM, part number 09-323700.
